EPEC @ EPSC 2018

The Europlanet Early Careers (EPEC) network had a busy week at EPSC 2018 in Berlin!

Members gathered at the EPEC corner and organised three short courses:

  • Science Cross Talks brought together early career people at the beginning of the conference  to get to know other young scientists and to hear about their research fields.

  • Speakers Bernard Foing, Jan Raack and Maike Neuland led It’s all about the money, a presentation of different funding schemes and grant opportunities for young scientists.

  • Ottaviano Ruesch and Michel Blanc presented Space is our mission, an overview of different operating and future space missions by ESA, NASA and China.

For the second year, Science Flash challenged EPSC early career scientists to present their research in 180s with only one slide in a fun and original way. This year’s competition had 7 participants.

Congratulations to the winners: Julia Marin-Yaseli (Spain), Giovanni Poggiali (Italy), Adhithiyan Neduncheran (India), plus a special mention to Christina Smith (Canada) who blew our mind with her Mars poem)!
