Planets in a Room

“Planets in a room” is a low cost version of a small, spherical projector that teachers, planetary scientists, museums and other individuals can easily build and use on their own to show and teach the planets. Initially funded by the Europlanet Outreach Funding Scheme and developed by the italian non-profit association Speak Science in collaboration with INAF-IAPS of Rome and the Roma Tre University, it is now being distributed through its dedicated website to the outreach community. New educational projects and contents are under development.

Terra chiama Marte!

An educational path in 5 video lessons created by Edu INAF in collaboration with Europlanet as part of the Europlanet 2024 RI project. Intended for 10-14 year olds, its purpose is to provide an overview of the planet Mars, describing its main chemical and physical properties and linking them to the ability of the planet, present and past, to host life.
The individual teaching resources are accompanied by a power-point that can be easily used in the classroom, by video-experiments and parallels with extreme environments of the Earth, today considered real laboratories to study closely the properties of the red planet.

Afar Desert Class
