EPSC 2017 saw the launch of the EPEC Network bringing together early-career planetary scientists and space professionals attending the meeting. EPEC events at EPSC 2017 included training workshops on scientific writing and ERC funding opportunities, the first EPSC Outstanding Student Poster Award, and the second EPSC Science Flash competition, where participants had just 180 seconds to present their work in a fun original way.
The winners of the first EPSC OSP (Outstanding Student Poster) Award are:
- Javier Berzosa-Molina for the outstanding poster entitled “Traces of exomoons in flux and polarization signals of starlight reflected by exoplanets”
- Robin Thor for the outstanding poster entitled “Retrieval of Mercury’s h2 from BepiColombo Laser Altimeter data”
- Anni Kasikov and Rudolfs Treilis for their outstanding poster entitled “Methods for Finding New Carbon Stars in the Cassiopeia Constellation”
