Europlanet Ambassadors’ Programme

The Europlanet Ambassador programme aims to promote the European planetary science community, and the facilities and services offered by Europlanet 2024 Research Infrastructure (RI), around the world. Ambassadors will cultivate impactful relationships with universities, institutions, industries and governments in both urban and rural areas, and online. Strategic relationships and joint meetings of the Europlanet Science Congress (EPSC) with the American Astronomical Society’s Division of Planetary Sciences (DPS) and other societies and regional groupings will be explored. The Ambassadors’ Programme links to Goal 3 of the Europlanet Global Collaboration and Integration Development Strategic Plan.

Objectives

  • To raise awareness of European planetary science and Europlanet beyond the EU.
  • To build a wider international user base of the RI from the international academic and industrial community.

Expected Outcomes

  • An active Ambassadors programme established for community-led international engagement.
  • An increase in applications and use of TAs and other Europlanet 2024 RI services from international users.
