Vienna to host 100 astronauts from 3-7 October

100 Astronauts and Cosmonauts will visit Vienna to participate in the XXIX Space Explorers´ Congress from 3-7 October 2016. The week-long conference will include a press briefing on 3 October and a nationwide community day on 5 October, when the astronauts and cosmonauts will despatch in small groups of 3-4 to visit public events, schools, universities and scientific facilities all over Austria.

2016 marks the 25th anniversary of Austrian Astronaut, Franz Viehböck’s, AustroMir mission to the MIR space station, which launched on 2nd October 1991.

Some of the nationwide community day events will also be open to media representatives. Interviews with astronauts may be scheduled if the requests are placed during the next two months. For further information please contact:
